When I picture a rock, I think of an immovable object. If Jesus is my rock, then why am I so easily moved?
It’s easy to blame the economy. I can count more friends than I have fingers and toes who have lost their jobs, had a car repossessed, been kicked out of their apart- ments, or moved halfway across the country to get a new life.
The Israelites experienced something similar in Bible times. Cities of refuge were set up as places to flee for one’s life (see Numbers 35). Don’t you wish you had a place like that to go when you’re short on rent, get in a fight with your girlfriend/boyfriend, or fail at a new career?
