I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart. Where? The fruit of unspeakable joy doesn’t even compare to the kind of happiness the world has to offer. Yesterday we read about the fruit of the Spirit and how it makes us seem like we’re under the influence.
People sing under the influence. King David knew joy. He was the king of Israel and had waited a very long time to sit on the throne. But something happened one spring. Second Samuel 11:1 says, “In the spring, at the time when kings go off to war, David sent Joab out with the king’s men and the whole Israelite army. They destroyed the Ammonites and besieged Rabbah. But David remained in Jerusalem.”
