I Cor. 11: 3 But I want you to understand that the HEAD of every MAN is CHRIST; the HEAD of a wife is her HUSBAND and the HEAD of CHRIST is GOD.

v. 7 For a man…is the image and glory of God, but woman is the glory of man.

v. 8   For man was not created for woman but woman was created for man.

v. 11   Therefore, woman is not independent from man nor is man independent from woman.  So as woman was made from man, man is born from woman. And all things are from God.

Definition: Same as in English=The beginning or source of something.  Like the head of a line; it is the seat of authority like the head of a government; the source where direction comes from. The head gives direction.

Headship gives:  DIRECTION, PROTECTION, and Sanctification (dedication, consecration, blessing—approval or PERMISSION) or RELEASE HER—give her permission to prosper in her gifts.

Headship is an assigned authority. It is a position established by someone else…an appointment, election. 

Headship can be any type of personality. Extrovert or introvert. Very expressive or very quite. Can be a director, inspirer, contemplator, peacemaker. 

Headship can be male or female—except in marriage
