Some people wait for their dreams to come true; I chase mine. Today’s verse encour- ages us to chase after Jesus if we want to be free. Freedom feels better than staying put. Comfortable. (Yeah, I’m talking to you.) Life is not about being on easy street or staying put. That’s not what Jesus meant for you or for me.

Most people resist change. It’s easier to stay home than pursue your dreams. But this verse means something more than running toward what you desire. In Psalm 119 David spent a lot of time talking about the commandments of God. When we are obedient to Jesus and his will, we experience the kind of freedom that makes our hearts sing. Now, it doesn’t mean that our lives are free from pain, strife, or worry, but it does mean that we’re no longer living life in the slow lane.
