Some verses are a prayer - others are a command

some verses are a dare --- others tell a story -

The first three verses that we are going to study tonight

are all of the above -

Take them to heart - learn them by heart - meditate on them -

ask the Holy Spirit to breathe life into these verses

                  just for you -

In these 3 verses are one of the greatest and most

         true secrets of life -

Philippians 3:12 – 14

One of the great mysteries of God - one of the great gifts of God -

is the bestowing of new beginnings -

I think about September – the beginning of a new school year -

new pencils … new notebooks … new classrooms

I think about new months on the calendar -

the first of every month -

change your sheets, dust the chandelier,

                           new toothbrush

I think about new seasons –

first day of spring, summer, fall and winter -

are days of celebration and change -

new habits … new clothes out old clothes away -

the way you treat your yard is different -

                           where you set your thermostat

I think about birthdays – reminder that somethings do not stop

         but keep moving …

watch our children grow up -
