The Last Straw (Part 1)
Series: I Just Can't Win
Jennifer Waddle
Mark 5:25-29

It’s often the slightest of things that does it.

You know, those small, somewhat insignificant events that cause our already band-aid covered hearts to rip wide-open and make us feel like we “just can’t win.”

Honestly, there have been times when I didn’t know whether to throw my head back and laugh (at the craziness of it all), or fall into a heap on the floor and cry my eyes out.

Can you relate?

If you have found yourself under the weight of the “last straw” and don’t know what you’re going to do next, please know you are not alone. Not only are there many who are probably going through the same thing, there have been many who have gone before us.

“Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse.  When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. She went to find Jesus.

She actually fought her way through crowds of people to touch His robe. And honestly, I don’t think anything would have stopped her.

May I ask, “What is stopping you?”

Ladies, what stops us from doing everything we can to touch the hem of Jesus’ robe? What makes us so weary we cannot or will not push our way through the crowds to reach Him?

What if, our “last straw,” (which seems like the complete end of us), is really the beginning of bravery. What if, after we’ve allowed ourselves to pout a little—even cry it out, we get back up, determined enough to reach out.

Let’s face it sisters, that ONE MORE THING can either lay us flat, or spur us on to become “fearless power houses,” (as my friend, Renee, likes to say).

“You really can be a fearless powerhouse even when you don’t feel like it, but only when you know exactly who you are in Him and what He’s made available to you.” (read more of Renee’s writing HERE)

What has Jesus made available to you today? What “hem of His robe” is within reach? What “crowd” do you need to fight your way through?

Dear one, perhaps ...
