The Other Woman
Series: Faithbook of Jesus Devotional
Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”
— John 4:10
This book connects you with Jesus daily. Today we see Jesus sharing his faith with others. That leads me to the question: “How do you share your faith with others?” Do you drag them to church or grab a beer with them down at the local pub?
In John 4 Jesus went to the local watering hole to grab a drink while his disciples went to find food. It was the middle of the day, and the women were home staying cool, except for her. She was the other woman.
Jesus spoke up and asked for some water. Back then, that was a pretty big deal. Jewish men never talked to women outside their race. Jewish rabbis never talked to women in public. . . ever. Jesus, the rabbi, asked the Samaritan (non-Jewish) woman for a drink of water at the well.
