Following your heart is a big load of crap. The heart is deceitful above all things and cannot be trusted (see Psalm 5:9; Proverbs 17:20; Jeremiah 9:8; 17:9; Hosea 10:2).
What is so evil about following our hearts? Well, does anyone watch The Bachelor? Jason Mesnick, a single dad, was one of ABC’s recent bachelors on the hit television program.
I remember watching the four-hour season finale, which made me heartsick. Jason proposed to Melissa and sent Molly home. The episode ended with Jason, Ty, and Melissa jumping into the pool (fully clothed) wearing three of the biggest smiles on their faces. They had found happily ever after.
Then during After the Final Rose (the show after the finale), Jason told Melissa on camera that he had to follow his heart. His heart was with Molly. Seconds later a tearful Melissa left the stage and a hesitant but giggly Molly was kissing Jason. ...
