When John the Baptist was preparing the way for Jesus to come and be bap- tized, he confronted the Pharisees and the Sadducees. John said, “You brood of vipers! . . . Produce fruit in keeping with repentance” (Luke 3:7-8).
What exactly does that mean? A person who is truly sorry will show it by his or her lifestyle and actions. The super-Christians showed up to display their knowledge and wealth but not to actually help people change.
