Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things.
— luke 10:41
One day Mary and Martha were getting ready for company. But not just any compa-ny — they were hosting Jesus and his crew. Martha found herself doing all the workalone. She was frustrated and said, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me todo the work by myself ? Tell her to help me!” (Luke 10:40).
Jesus’ next words to her are very interesting if you look at them from the perspec-tive that Jesus was celebrating Martha. He challenged her by saying, “You are worriedand upset about many things, but only one thing is needed” (Luke 10:41-42).
