Series: Faithbook of Jesus Devotional
1 Kings 3:9
Give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?
— 1 Kings 3:9
Solomon was given a huge responsibility — to govern the Lord’s people, the Israelites. His father, David, was a man after Jesus’ own heart. Assuming his role required big shoes and an even bigger heart, Solomon asked Jesus how to be a yes-man.
“Need wisdom?” Jesus asked. “Yes, please!” Solomon replied.
