Most twentysomethings know what it means to be under the influence. How about under the influence of the Spirit? The Bible says that by our fruit people will recognize us. Yes, I said fruit. The Bible is very clear on what it looks like, and it has nothing to do with being drunk.

There are oranges and apples and lemons and pears. Well, actually it looks more like this: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law” (Galatians 5:22-23).

When you are living under the influence of the Holy Spirit, your life will produce love, joy, and peace. You’re not green with envy or drunk with impatience but are instead living the sugar-baby sweet life.
