I come across some interesting people who call me at work asking to book a speaker or comedian. Sometimes it’s their accent that makes me laugh, and other times it’s their attitude that turns me off. I don’t understand when they want to be called “Prophetess Divine” or “Reverend Brother.”
I respect churches that use adjectives to describe their volunteers, but what I don’t understand is why their actions sometimes don’t match their words. For instance, one day I was leaving a message for a lady who was inquiring about one of my comedians. Her voice-mail message didn’t make any sense. It was long-winded and mentioned something about how President Obama was the answer to all her prayers.
