Teaching Notes:

Have you ever asked yourself the question,

“How can my life be of any use to the Lord?”

My circumstances are horrible -

I'm depressed and financially broke …

My kids are rebellious and my house is falling apart

How can my life be of any use to the Lord?

You need to read Philippians to discover -

People in less than ideal conditions are the only kind of people that God uses -

He can use you because of His power!

In the Book of Philippians - Paul was in prison -

used the word “Joy” or “rejoicing” - no less than 16 times

From what source do you pursue joy?

From people's opinions of you?

From a new possession?

Or of planning a vacation to an exotic vacation?

Don't cheapen joy by believing that those pursuits will

deliver joy to the front door of your life!

Joy is at its best when life is at its worst!

Fill-Up is a Bible Study of the Book of Philippians -

Dig in … every verse … every sentence …

Learn some new Greek words-

learn some history -

learn some theology -

Fill-Up with the joy that kept Paul serving God

even from a prison cell

wrote to me in her last year of life while I was

away in college -

It was written to me … just to me …

My roommate that year …

didn't have a grandma or a mother -

She loved to read the letters that my mom and

grandma sent to me –

So after I read them –

I would leave them on her desk to read next -

When I told my mom and grandma about how much my

roommate enjoyed their letters –

they began adding little tidbits in for her -

The Holy Spirit has left this letter for you to read on your desk -

it was addressed to someone else …

but it is for you none the less

It was not written to you – but it was written for you -

Paul thought he was writing to the saints at Philippi -

but little did he know that in God's

communication kingdom -

It would change the lives of women who read it

2000 years later!

“Paul and Timothy &he ...
