In the book of Joshua, we are introduced to Rahab in the city of Jericho. She is a prostitute. Because she was a woman “in the know,” the king sent his men to her home to investigate if the foreign men he assumed to be spies had been in her home.
Rahab hid these spies and, as part of her contingency plan to help them escape, just before helping them escape, she made a plea bargain for her life in return for her kindness.
