When I was reading my One-Year Bible, the phrase “Tent of Meeting” jumped out at me. It was like when you buy a new car, all you see on the road is your car — every- where. It was like every few verses or so, starting in Exodus, I saw “Tent of Meeting.” So I did a search. Sure enough, “Tent of Meeting” is mentioned more than 140 times in the Old Testament from Exodus all the way to 2 Chronicles.

Tent meetings today may look and feel like revival meetings. The tent meetings of old were tents where the Israelites would come to sacrifice animals to cleanse them from their sins.

We no longer need to sacrifice bulls or have priests relieve us of our sins. Jesus is our High Priest.
