Throughout the Bible there are places where Jesus “closed” a woman’s womb. Why does Jesus withhold life? Sarah, the mother of all nations, bore Abraham only one child, Isaac. Rachel, the beloved wife of Jacob, bore only two sons and died giving birth to the second. And don’t even get me started on Hannah!
It’s a mystery to me why Jesus closes some doors and opens others.
As Christians, we have a responsibility to allow Jesus to use us, however he sees fit. We may not understand how and why, but who are we to say, “No, I don’t accept this trial”? (Maybe it’s so later on we can help others through the same trial.)
