You don’t have to be perfect for Jesus to bless you. That would be impossible. No one in the Bible was perfect, except Jesus. David’s story fascinates me. A little fame, and mistakes were made. What about Abraham, the “father of nations”? He slept with his wife’s servant. Jacob, another hero of the faith, tricked his father-in-law, who had cheated him into marrying both his daughters. And Rahab was a prostitute.
David and his family had problems. One of his sons was so filled with lust for his sister that he had to have her. In fact, David’s unruly children ran his house and even- tually his kingdom after kicking him out of the palace. Does that discount that David was a man after God’s own heart (see Acts 13:22)? Of course not.
